If you use the Suggest a topic feature, you may provide:

  • the topic or idea you submit;
  • your LinkedIn profile URL, if you choose to provide it for attribution.

Optional personal information is not required to submit a topic suggestion.

Information collected automatically

Byte Corner uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand general website usage and performance.

Cloudflare Web Analytics does not use cookies and is designed not to collect or use personal data.

We do not operate a user account system and do not require visitors to register to read the website.

2. How We Use Information

Information submitted through the suggestion form may be used to:

  • review and evaluate submitted ideas;
  • credit you if your suggestion is used for a Byte Corner article and you have provided the necessary information;
  • maintain and manage the suggestion system.

We do not forward, or share submitted information or use it for advertising.

3. GitHub

Suggestions submitted through the website are sent to our private GitHub repository as GitHub Issues.

Information included in a suggestion is stored and processed by GitHub for the purpose of managing and reviewing submitted suggestions. The repository is private and the submitted information is not publicly accessible through the repository.

Please do not include sensitive personal information in a topic suggestion.

4. Data Retention

We retain submitted suggestions and the information contained in them for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including maintaining the history of article suggestions and published content.

If you request deletion of personal information contained in a suggestion, we will review the request and delete or anonymize the information where appropriate and where we are not required to retain it for another lawful purpose.

5. Third-Party Services

Byte Corner currently uses third-party services including:

  • Cloudflare for website hosting, delivery, and Web Analytics;
  • GitHub for storing and managing submitted topic suggestions.

These services may process information in accordance with their own privacy policies and terms.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to Byte Corner, the services we use, or applicable legal requirements.
